As you can tell Fanvasion.com looks different, and we hope you think it’s a nice change because I feel like it’s been a long time coming. A very long time. In fact, we were hoping to have the revamp up months ago but things happen and one of the things that changed the course of how the revamp would look was the passing of Michael Jackson. To say that Michael Jackson and his music was an inspiration to Fanvasion and us as people would be the biggest understatement. I can’t remember a day when I wasn’t a fan of Michael Jackson. The first time I saw what a concert was, the first music I remember listening to and sang to, and memories growing up always came back to The Jacksons. In fact, I remember I wasn’t even allowed to watch MTV when I was in preschool…but, I watched Michael Jackson videos.
I know Elizabeth Taylor coined the term "King of Pop" and that’s what Michael is infamously known as, but considering the bar was raised in music, music videos, and performers in general – I think of Michael more like the "King of Music". His dance moves, his phrases, and his style. One thing in common with nearly every artist I speak to, is that they were all inspired by Michael Jackson — so what does that say about the music of today? What would music sound be like today if Michael never sang a note or danced one move?
The death of Michael Jackson is both a musical and personal loss, and we here at Fanvasion.com found it more than necessary to dedicate our relaunch issue to Michael, because there certainly wouldn’t be a FV if it weren’t for MJ. That being said, there are a lot of things in store from this moment forward.
