I watched the Teen Choice Awards…yeah I did. I may have not been a teen for a few years now, but I have no shame. While the awards were as expected nothing to fan-girl over, the clothes were! There was a wide variety of the same ‘ol-same ‘ol red carpet looks, but I did notice a few ladies really bringing their A-game, others continued their streak of fabulous, and some gave me a fresh look.

Below is the run-down of my favorites that you might agree with or you might want to tell me I’m insane for my choices. It is what it is. I may not be a teen anymore and therefore should probably have avoided watching the show all together, but fashion called my name. It’s funny how none of the ladies who made my ‘Best Dressed’ list are teens either, so maybe they should re-name this award show.

1. Nikki Reed in Etro

The bohemian look is huge this summer, but unfortunately it’s not for everyone. There’s a fine line between trying out the look, being true boho, and abusing a trend. “Twilight” star Nikki Reed opted to test la vie bohème last night and pulled it off with flying colors. The actress chose a printed halter-neck handkerchief dress from Etro‘s spring/summer collection that she paired with an over-sized gold hammered cuff and onyx drop earrings – which are also Etro. I love that she went simple with her jewelry and left out a necklace to let the dress neckline stand out, but the gold enhanced the boho vibe and her sun-kissed skin. Nikki kept her accessories simple with a Salvatore Ferragamo black metal leather minaudière.

Nikki’s make-up was soft- but pretty, and her hair was perfectly tousled up with a delicate headband of her own hair braided. Adorable Giuseppe Zanotti E10205 005 mirrored nude sandals completed her look. I wish I could find a clear photo to show them off!

2. Nina Dobrev in D&G

This was something I wasn’t expecting! I could have sworn Nina Dobrev would arrive in a brightly colored outfit and while that would have been fine, I was pleasantly surprised with this well use of gingham print on the red-erm-blue carpet. Stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, hooked “The Vampire Diaries” star up with an adorable navy and white D&G dress and played up the colors with her accessories which included a white Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and navy satin double platform pumps also by Ferragamo. The look was obviously thought out but looked effortless; it was perfect for a low-key award show, but an option for someone wanting to replicate a red carpet look for a date night of their own. A high ponytail and jewelry from Ippolita completed Nina’s look.

3. Fergie in Dolce & Gabbana

The stars love Dolce & Gabbana‘s stars! The fall/winter constellation print from the beloved fashion house has been a red carpet staple for the past several months, but I had yet to see my favorite look until Fergie hit the blue carpet last night for the TCA’s. Although the length was definitely reduced, it didn’t look trashy and it was event appropriate. I can’t help but think Fergie-Ferg was sweating in the hot California sun in those long sleeves though…I hope she had enough sun-block on or else she definitely had something to rival the almighty “farmer’s tan”. This lightened blonde hair actually compliments the Black Eyed Peas which is rare because it can be quite harsh on others.

A black clutch and studded “Pigalle” pumps by Christian Louboutin completed her look.

4. Blake Lively in Gucci

It seems that the recent ‘scandal-that-shall-not-be-named’ Blake Lively has been toning down her sultry red carpet staple style. Long gone are the strapless up-to-there mini dresses, they have since been replaced by knee-length sheath dresses, gowns, and last night our eyes were greeted with a short sleeve, knee-length, decolletage-covering belted tangerine leather dress from Gucci‘s latest resort collection. I loved it! We know Blake has legs a short girl like me could only dream of, but they can be covered from time to time and this time it was done so well. Blake played up the color theme of the award show with silver and turquoise jewelry from one of her favorite designers, Lorraine Schwartz. Surprisingly the “Gossip Girl” actress made her shoe of a choice a pair of animal print “Pigalle” pumps by Christian Louboutin. I wonder if her pal Christian helped her pick them out!

My only problem with this look was the hair. This is one time I was hoping for loose waves instead of the chosen bone-straight and pinned back bangs style.

5. Emma Stone in Christian Dior

The “Crazy, Stupid, Love” actress skipped the carpet, but she didn’t hold back her style! Emma Stone presented during the show and practically walked out in slow motion according to me because all I could focus on was her gorgeous Christian Dior resort dress. The asymmetric silk flowing fabric was long-sleeved but lightweight, a drop waist, with a colorblock style consisting of white, black, and dazzling dark blush sequins. The back-to-red-headed star complimented the sequins of her dress with matching Lanvin peep toe sandals, and Irene Neuwirth jewelry.

I still don’t know which award she presented.

6. Khloe Kardashian in Roberto Cavalli

If you’re surprised that Khloe Kardashian found her way onto one of my ‘Best Dressed’ list, do not be alarmed – I’m an animal print fanatic and this lady did me proud on the blue carpet last night. ‘Goodbye’ skin-tight bandage dresses and ‘Hello’ to the long flowing, mixed animal print gown by Roberto Cavalli from the designer’s pre-fall collection that the Kardashian sister chose for the event. Ever-present were her long dark locks and trusty Yves Saint Laurent pumps, but that gown was a knock-out. Kim usually takes center stage whenever she and her sisters are at one of the many, many award shows they attend each year, but I believe all eyes were on Khloe last night. Rawr.

7. Zoe Saldana in Lanvin

This is a dress meant for twirling! “Colombiana” actress Zoe Saldana attended the TCA’s last night to pay tribute to the “Harry Potter” franchise – in case you were wondering – but she worked her own magic in this multi-tone metallic strapless dress from Lanvin‘s resort collection with an added leather belt and gold metallic Alexander McQueen platform sandals. Because the dress was glitzy enough, obviously the need for heavy jewelry was low but not non-existent as Zoe wore Jamie Wolf bangles, Lana earrings and a Carla Amorim ring.

8. Rachel Bilson in Chloé

I almost didn’t recognize the dress Rachel Bilson wore last night until I saw a close-up of the detail and realized it was a shortened version of a gown presented during Chloé‘s resort 2012 collection. I guess the “Hart of Dixie” star loved it so much that she needed to wear it despite her tiny frame, as fellow shortie I can understand. Rachel paired the soft dress with the ‘Cohen Borchie’, a wicked pair of super-studded ankle boots with a skinny needle heel by Brian Atwood. Some thought the shoes were too edgy for the dress, but I thought opposites attracted and they were adorable on the actress. I also loved that she pulled back most of her two-toned hair, I was growing tired of her constant center part and dull waves.

9. Lucy Hale in Cengiz Abazoğlu

Va-va-voom! Lucy Hale of “Pretty Little Liars” was a head-turner last night in this fully sequined light pink asymmetric mini dress with a black abstract design and cutout detail at the neck by Cengiz Abazoğlu. You can’t tell from the photo, but her entire back was exposed to the point that if she wasn’t encased in sheer fabric, she could’ve given the person sitting behind her an eye-full when she took her seat at the ceremony. The dress was sassy and I loved it, but I think I loved her Giuseppe Zanotti mega platform peep toe pumps more. They had a minor wedge but were basically heel-less!

Twitter was buzzing with fans trying to find where they could get her couture dress, but unless you have an extra twenty grand laying around, you should continue to dream big.

10. Ashley Benson in Alice + Olivia

When I first saw “Pretty Little Liars” star Ashley Benson on the carpet, I mistook her high neck printed dress as an Alexander McQueen creation I had never seen but it was actually by Alice + Olivia! Like Ashley, I am a fan of the Stacey Bendet collection as well as this hot yellow and black mini! The dress called for black accessories to play up the edgy feel of the dress and Ashley didn’t pick just anything, but an acrylic clutch from Jimmy Choo and deco “ART” pumps by Ruthie Davis. The platforms look like a wedge halfway before they turn into a stiletto heel – insane!

HONORABLE MENTION

I had to give a shout out to Kim Kardashian because her Givenchy ostrich cady dress was gorgeous and you know I can’t hate on a standard patent Christian Louboutin “Pigalle” pumps. Unfortunately, I can hate on that hair, and I will. She let the dress down. She could’ve been a contender.

One of the things that perks us up after Labor Day rolls around and summer is officially over is the Fall TV line-up. You know you agree. After a day of studying or a night of staying in from the cold, grabbing a bowl of popcorn and getting cozy on the couch while watching your new favorite show. There are a few new series that we’re counting down the days to and we’d like to share those so you can mark their premieres on your calendar to tune in too!

Melrose Place (Season Premiere – Tuesday, Sept. 8th at 9/8c on The CW)

After much success with their remake of Beverly Hills, 90210 – The CW is at it again with another 90′s primetime soap. Laura Leighton returns as ‘Sydney Andrews’ to co-star with Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Katie Cassidy (both formley of 7th Heaven) in the revamp of MELROSE PLACE. While the new series isn’t too different from the original, there’s still a whole lot of new drama. In fact it kicks right off with murder mystery! It’s not everyday you wake up to a dead body in your apartment complex pool. Thomas Calabro will reprise his role as ‘Dr. Michael Mancini’ and Daphne Zuniga – who’s been starring on another CW series One Tree Hill – will return for 3 episodes (so far) as ‘Jo Reynolds’.

The Vampire Diaries (Season Premiere – Thursday, Sept. 10th at 8/7c on The CW)

2009 is the year of the vampire. Okay… so, maybe not. Maybe we’re just in a Twilight-induced daze, but we can’t help but want to watch the new CW series THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, based off the popular novels by L.J. Smith – and get this – these books came out 14 years before the world learned about Edward Cullen. The series follows ‘Elena Gilbert’ who becomes the object of affection by her secretive new classmate ‘Stefan’. Wonder what he’s hiding? Whatever, we’ll dish… he’s a vampire. Bet you didn’t see that one coming! You might be having déjà vu so far but trust us… this show is different. Not only does this vamp not sparkle, but instead of having a super friendly non-human-biting family he has an sadistic older brother that would rather fight against him to get to Elena. Oh, and there’s totally a bubbly hyper girl who has physic abilities. Wait… hmm.

GLEE (Season Premiere – Wednesday, Sept. 16th at 9/8c on FOX)

Former NLT member Kevin McHale and Lea Michele of the Tony award-winning musical Spring Awakening have scored themselves a role on Fox’s GLEE! The musical comedy is about a group of small-town high school students whose failing glee club is turned upside down by the new Spanish teacher ‘Mr. Shuster’ (played by former Broadway star Matthew Morrison, Hairspray). Move over Wildcats because GLEE has officially taken over the musical school spirit stick, but while the students of McKinley High are ‘all in it together’ — they’re not singing about it. You can expect to hear modern versions of some of your favorite hits from the radio and stage, such as Journey‘s "Don’t Stop Believing" (available on iTunes!), the Grease classic "You’re the One That I Want", and "Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat" from Guys and Dolls. It’s going to be a Broadway affair this season on Glee when talent from the stage such as Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked, The Apple Tree), John Llyod Young (Jersey Boys), Victor Garber (Present Laughter), and Cheyenne Jackson (Xanadu) guest-star.

The Beautiful Life:TBL (Season Premiere – Wednesday, Sept. 16th at 9/8c on The CW)

Because – let’s face it – we all get addicted to watching shows about beautiful young people wearing clothes that cost more than a car with tons of issues, we’re here to tell you about THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE:TBL. Mischa Barton returns to television in the CW’s new drama series about a group of co-ed models who share a residence in New York City while competing in the modeling world. Supermodel Elle MacPherson plays the head of the modeling agency. Produced by Ashton Kutcher and based off a script by former model-turned-writer Adam Giaudrone, The Beautiful Life:TBL premieres on the CW this September. Sara Paxton (The Last House on the Left) and Corbin Bleu (High School Musical) also star.

Accidentally on Purpose (Season Premiere – Monday, Sept. 21st at 8:30/9:30c on CBS)

We were huge fans of Dharma & Greg and now we can’t wait to see Jenna Elfman on the small-screen once again with her new comedy series ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE. With a very Knocked Up-esque premise, Jenna plays ‘Billie’, a movie critic in her 30s that ends up pregnant as a result of a one-night stand with ‘Zack’ (Jon Foster), a 20-something frat boy. With a new boyfriend, a demanding job, and motherhood on the horizon, Billie finds herself living with Zack platonically to raise the baby. How will she handle it when Zack and his buddies turn her apartment into their newest party spot? This is a recipe for disaster and you can best believe we’ll be tuning in.

The Forgotten (Season Premiere – Tuesday, Sept. 22nd at 10/9c on ABC)

ABC has gone and done it again. The network always manages to suck us in to their Fall line-up every season and this year it’s no different with the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced mystery drama THE FORGOTTEN. After his short-lived series My Own Worst Enemy was pulled last season on NBC, Christian Slater replaces previously casted Rupert Penry-Jones as a former detective named ‘Alex Donovan’ whose daughter was kidnapped and never found. A group of dedicated but amateur detectives that make up the Idenity Network get to work to uncover the mystery of what happened to the little girl as well as numerous forgotten missing victims in a country where the remains of 40,000 people haven’t been identified. Don’t forget to tune in this fall.

Mercy (Season Premiere – Wednesday, Sept. 23rd at 8/7c on NBC)

While you’ll still be able to see her on Gossip Girl this season, Michelle Trachtenberg stars alongside fresh faces Taylor Schilling and Jamie Lee Kirchner in NBC’s medical drama MERCY. After the final season of ER coming to a close this past season, we’ll need something to fill the void and we definitely think this is the way to go. Just like Nurse Jackie and HawtoRNe have, the series puts focus on three nurses at Mercy Hospital. Schilling is ‘Veronica Callahan’, a headstrong nurse who joins the staff after a tour of duty in Iraq while Trachtenberg plays rookie nurse ‘Chloe Payne’ who gets a real awakening to what it’s like in this line of work. Kirchner stars as ‘Sonia Jimenez’.

Eastwick (Season Premiere – Wednesday, Sept. 23rd at 10/9c on ABC)

Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman star on the new ABC fantasy series EASTWICK, based off the big-screen 1980′s film, The Witches of Eastwick, which starred Cher, Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jack Nicholson. Three single women living in a picturesque suburban town develop powers and use to enrich their lives which they feel are lacking in love, success and power. These witches join the ABC line-up in late September. Veronica Cartwright, who starred in original movie will also star alongside Jon Bernthal, Ashley Benson, Matt Dallas and Sara Rue. Interestingly enough, this is the third adaptation of the story that has been pitched for television — the first being in 1992 and the second in 2002 which would have starred Marcia Cross, Kelly Rutherford, and Lori Loughlin had it been picked up.

Cougar Town (Season Premiere – Wednesday, Sept. 23rd at 9:30/8:30c on ABC)

So, DIRT didn’t work out — but, Courteney Cox will still be on your TV screen this fall! Take a trip to Cougar Town this fall on ABC when 40 year-old ‘Jules Cobb’ (Cox) is on the prowl for a new man after her recent divorce in this fresh comedy. How will her 17 year-old son react when mom brings home her much younger new boyfriend (Nick Zano). Dan Bryd, Brian Van Holt, and Busy Phillips also star.

Brothers (Season Premiere – Friday, Sept. 25th at 8/7c on FOX)

We’re from New Jersey so you know we have to rep for our NY Giants and now we’ll be following former defensive end Michael Strahan has he tries his hand with acting in the new FOX series BROTHERS. Strahan plays retired NFL star ‘Mike Trainor’, who returns to his Texas hometown to help take care of his father (Carl Weathers) who’s fallen ill. In the process he reunites with his paraplegic estranged brother (Daryl Mitchell) who are pressured to find common ground at the request of their parents. CCH Pounder also stars.
