FV Rating:

Creator/Executive Producer: Mark Schwahn

Starring: James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Galeotti, Sophia Bush, Austin Nichols, Robert Buckley, Shantel VanSanten, Lee Norris, Jackson Brundage, Paul Johansson, Antwon Tanner, Jana Kramer, and Lisa Goldstein.

What does Mark Schwahn have up his sleeve? What started out as a television show with teen drama, angst, love-triangles, and parental "issues" centered around basketball has turned into a time-jumping, face-lifting, series about successful young adults raising kids, making movies, performing across the country, running clothing lines…and playing for the NBA. Gotta have the b-ball.

With the highly-publicized departure of two of One Tree Hill’s major cast members Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton at the end of season six, I had severe doubts on whether series creator/exec. producer Schwahn could pull it off for the seventh year. Did he? I’ve watch the season twice and I’m still not sure. How do you watch a show for over half a decade growing with characters only to see them gone in the blink of an eye and have to accept new actors you’ve never heard of that will take their place? It’s not an easy task for any devoted fan–which I am. One of the faces was pretty familiar–Austin Nichols was introduced in season six as Julian Baker, the movie producer who befriended Lucas Scott (Murray), previously dated Peyton Sawyer (Burton), and woo’d Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush)–and therefore had the opportunity to win fans over and not find him as somewhat of a ‘threat’ to Lucas’ memory.

Now, Robert Buckley? That’s a different story. [READ MORE]

18 To LifeSummer is about to get a lot hotter when The CW unleashes 18 TO LIFE, the hit Canadian comedy series about a modern-day Romeo and Juliet. The network will air all 12 half-hour episodes from the premiere season of 18 TO LIFE on
Tuesday nights beginning August 3, with back-to-back episodes airing from 9:00-9:30 and 9:30-10:00 p.m. ET.

In the premiere episode of 18 TO LIFE, when Tom and Jessie – 18-year-old next-door neighbors who have grown up together – run off and get married, their warring families are forced to become one in this hilarious multi-generational half-hour about relationships, true love, and who takes out the garbage. The series explores intimate relationships in combustible combinations as husband-wife, mom-dad, and in-laws all struggle to influence the newlyweds and control the extended family’s destiny. Tom and Jessie move into his parents’ attic and their marriage becomes public property, creating an endless string of challenges for the couple. As this new love blooms audaciously amidst the two settled marriages, it stirs up new frictions and old passions in both sets of parents.

18 TO LIFE stars Stacey Farber (“Degrassi: The Next Generation”) and Michael Seater (“The Sin Bin,” “Life With Derek”) as the young lovers, along with Peter Keleghan (“Billable Hours,” “The Newsroom”), Al Goulem (“The Tournament,” “Stardom”), Ellen David (“Surviving My Mother,” “The Business”), and Angela Asher (“Degrassi: The Next Generation,” “Queer as Folk”) as the parents, as well as Jesse Rath (“The Trotsky,” “Prom Wars”), and Tiio Horn (“Wild Hunt,” “The Trotsky”).

The show, which has just begun production on its second season in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is a co-production between Galafilm Inc. and Sound Venture Inc. in association with CBC Television. The series airs in Canada on the CBC, and is distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

The series is created, written, and executive produced by Gemini Award-winning writer Derek Schreyer (“Murdoch Mysteries,” “Cold Squad”), International Emmy Award-winning producer Karen Troubetzkoy (“15/Love,” “The Magician’s House”) and PrimeTime Emmy Award-winning Galafilm CEO Arnie Gelbart.

Talk Show Fashion: Twilight’s Kristen Stewart

For her last two television appearances before going home to rest up, Kristen Stewart left us wanting to see how many dresses will look ultra-fab with her new blonde locks. Tuesday morning on "Live with Regis and Kelly", Kristen wore my favorite blue crepe dress from Peter Pilotto‘s Spring collection that features a watercolor design that includes stand out green and red shades. I was so happy to see Kristen in Pilotto, and so disappointed to see it for an appearance she’d be sitting the whole time for. Her purple patent pumps were by Christian Louboutin. [READ MORE]

Talk Show Fashion: Twilight’s Ashley Greene

Ashley Greene was a guest on "The Today Show" this week to talk about her new movie, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse", as if you didn’t know what it was already. Ashley looked very classy in a printed Behnaz Sarafpour dress from the Spring/Summer 2010 line. The neckline was really interesting and while on the runway the model had her head through the gap in the neckline, Ashley chose to give her look some originality. Straying away from the usual black pump, Ashley wore teal ‘Maniac’ pumps by Brian Atwood.

One Tree Hill / Life UnexpectedAfter a constant back and fourth debate over One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected, not to mention the numerous fan petitions and campaigns The CW has decided to renew BOTH shows next season. We’re hearing 12-13 episodes have been ordered for each, but nothing is confirmed yet.

The C-Dub has also picked up newcomers Hellcats, starring Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka, as well as Nikita with Maggie Q.

Unfortunately, Melrose Place gets the axe.

The Vampire DiariesSure we love watching the relationship between Elena (Nina Dobrev) and her mysteriously sexy vampire boyfriend Stefan (Paul Wesley) each week on The Vampire Diaries, but let’s face it — we secretly root for more Elena and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). But, can we have it both ways? Series creator Kevin Williamson says we can because tonight, while Stefan is trying to come to terms with whether he wants to snack on on a deer or a soccer mom, his brother will be dancing the night away with his girl.

Where will this dance floor hottness take place? At the Founder’s Day Gala where Elena (looking strikingly like her vamp doppelganger Katherine Pierce) and Caroline (Candice Accola) compete for the title of "Miss Mystic Falls" with two other girls from the town, guest stars Autumn Dial and Spencer Locke. Damon just happens to be on hand to accompany Elena to the pageant. Squeal! Katerina Graham also returns tonight as Elena’s witchy BFF Bonnie after being MIA the last couple of episodes. [READ MORE]

Dancing with the StarsWe’re headed into Week 5 of the 10th season for Dancing With The Stars and Kate Gosselin is still on! There have been plenty of mixed reviews on whether or not Kate should still be apart of the competition. From the fact of her "neglecting" her eight children, to pointing out that she "can’t dance", and that she’s not a "star". But, what do you think?

As it stands Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger are leader board favorites and contenders for winning the whole she-bang, but Cincinnati Bengals football player Chad Ochocinco and comedian Niecy Nash are also fan favorites. So far, actress Shannen Doherty, legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and soap star Adien Turner are the only contestants to be voted off — so, among the eight remaining dancers, who would you like to see go home next? The Vampire DiariesCalling all vamp lovers! If you fell in love with the new hit CW series The Vampire Diaries then make sure you tune in TONIGHT, January 21st to see first all-new episode of the year! Hey, even if you missed out on the early hype, it’s never too late to get a weekly dose of sibling rivalry between two gorgeous vampires (played by Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder).

We last left off with a steamy love scene between Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Wesley) only for Elena to discover that she bares a shocking resembles to Stefan old-flame Katharine — aka the vampire who changed him way back when that just so happens to be Elena’s doppelganger. The night was capped off with Elena getting into a car accident and being pursued by an unknown presence instead of cuddling with her biting boyfriend. Find out what happens tonight at 8pm/7c on the CW.
