Benefit for Earthquake ReliefOn Tuesday, January 12, 2010 an earthquake of catastrophic magnitude hit west of the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince that resulted in over 200,000 deaths and left millions without food, shelter, or medical attention. Tonight (January 22nd) the stars will come together for the Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief. Two days after the earthquake devastation hit, actor George Clooney began putting together plans for a global telethon with the CEO of MTV Networks, Judy McGrath.

At 8/7c tonight, all of the major television networks will air this very special and very important telethon. Stars scheduled to perform include: Beyonce, Madonna, Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, Sting, Alicia Keys, Christian Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and Haitian artist Emeline Michel. A group performance will take place in Los Angeles with Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow as well as one in London featuring Bono, Jay-Z, The Edge, and Rihanna. In addition to the musical performances, Ben Stiller, Brad Pitt, Chris Rock, Clint Eastwood, Halle Berry, Jon Stewart, Denzel Washington, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Meryl Streep, Matt Damon, Tom Hanks, Will Smith, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Anna Kendrick, Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, David Archuleta, CNN’s Anderson Cooper, President Bill Clinton, and Muhammed Ali will join George Clooney along with more than hundred other famous names in film, television, and music.

Again, Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief will be airing commercial-free tonight at 8/7c on CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, CNN, The CW, MTV, VH1, BET, CMT, PBS, TNT, Showtime, COMEDY CENTRAL, Bravo, E! Entertainment, National Geographic Channel, Oxygen, G4, CENTRIC, Current TV, Fuse, MLB Network, EPIX, Palladia, SoapNet, The Style Network, Discovery Health, Planet Green, CNN en Espanol, and HBO Latino. Canadian networks inlcude: CBC Television, CTV, MuchMusic, and Global Television. Online broadcast will appear on Facebook, Fancast and Youtube.
