Young Artists For Haiti "Wavin' Flag" Video

On the heels of the “We Are The World” 25th anniversary remake for the Haiti earthquake relief, over 50 Canadian artists have joined together to do their part in the relief effort by recording hip-hop artist, K’naan‘s anthem “Wavin’ Flag”. The Young Artists For Haiti line-up included Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne, Pierre Bouvier (Simple Plan), Kardinal Offishall, LIGHTS,Deryck Whibley (Sum 41), Emily Haines and James Shaw of Metric, Drake, Fefe Dobson, Justin Nozuka, City & Colour, Nikki Yanofsky, and Justin Bieber among many.

“With the wealth of young artists coming out of Canada, it was obvious that this is something we had to do,” says producer icon Bob Ezrin. “K’naan’s lyrics in Wavin’ Flag embody the pain, passion and determination of the Haitian people and lend the hope of a brighter future. The response from the artists has been sensational, and I am so proud that together we may help to make a difference.”

Proceeds from downloads of the song will go to Free The Children, War Child Canada and World Vision Canada.
