Nikki Cleary

We caught up with Brittney on-line, and got to chat for a little bit. We talked about fans, music, and more. So, read on and enjoy!

FV: So who are your musical influences?
Brittney Cleary: Well…I am really into the Rock genre right now! My brother got me into Sevendust, Sublime, Linkin Park but I really like Shakira and Michelle Branch! I also love Britney Spear’s performance and her style!
FV (Courtney T.): I actually was listening to Linkin Parks new CD today…its pretty good
FV (Chanelle): That’s awesome! Courtney J. and T. are also into Britney and Shakira.
BC: *hehe* That’s funny that you have two friends named Courtney because I have two friends name Brittany.
FV (Chanelle): LoL! Yea I call them Courtney x2.
BC: haha!
FV (Courtney T.): lol yea it’s easier to people….they get us confused a lot.
BC: We just say "do you mean me Brittney…or her Brittany?"
FV (Courtney J.): haha

FV: Your single "I.M. me" is about AOL, was that your idea?
BC: Yah actually it was!!! My Dad also co-wrote some of the lyrics in it with a close friend of the family, Valerie Delacruz and another musician Mark Oliverious.

FV: So do you go on-line a lot? lol
BC: Yah..If I’m not on I usually just leave an away message on…so I’m basically on the entire day.
FV (Chanelle): Sounds like Courtney J. LoL!
BC: lol

FV: Is there one song on your album that is special to you?
BC: Well…I really like the song "Feel". Connie Howard wrote it…she is my piano teacher.

FV: Did you write any songs in the album, or have help in their creation?
BC: No, I didn’t write anything on this album…but hopefully on the next one I’ll get the opportunity…but I did help a lot in the creation of this album.

FV: Really? What did you get to do?
BC: Well, I made sure that I had some say in the cd cover graphics, the songs, and all that kind of stuff! If I don’t like something we all try to compromise on something.

FV: Cool, cool! How does it feel to be as young as you are, and already have an album out? What other things do you want to accomplish now?
BC: Well, I really want to get into the acting part of the business. I think that could be a lot of fun!

FV (Courtney T.): Yea, I would love to become an actress! See my name in lights lol
BC: *hehe*

FV: If you could choose one artist to perform with, who would it be?
BC: I would have to say Michelle Branch because I think she is just an awesome musician all the way around!

FV: Have you met any memorable fans yet?
BC: Once I was doing a TV taping in Times Square and a girl scout troop came along, They recognized me and bombarded me for autographs! It was cool…but kind of scary at the same time.

FV: Like many artists out today, they tend to have a big influence on young girls, what are your thoughts on that?
BC: Hey…I’m 14 and I’m happy to be 14. I’m happy with who I am..and I’m never going to pretend to be something I’m not! I think all girls should grow up with that sense of self-confidence.
FV: That’s a great attitude!
BC: thank yah!

FV: Since your still young do you go to public school or have a tutor?
BC: I tried to stay in public school as long as possible but It became to much so now I am home-schooled. I have a computer program I have to follow and spend a few hours on everyday.
FV (Courtney T.): Chanelle, and Courtney J. are home-schooled

FV (Courtney J.): Home-schooled, so are we! How do you like it?
BC: It’s cool but there’s no one around to pass notes to.
FV (Courtney J.): We pass notes to each other lol
