Michalka plays the high school “it” girl Charlotte who strikes up an unlikely friendship with the outsider Sa5m (yeah, uh huh — that’s how it’s spelled), played by Hudgens, and Will Burton (Gaelan Connell) to beat her ex-boyfriend Ben and his band Glory Dogs in the annual “Bandslam”, which is a battle of the bands type deal that’s known as the biggest competition in the country.
