Long Island native, Jessie Daniels is only sixteen – but, wow can this girl sing. Her cool down to earth personality will have your attention instantly caught, but her catchy, fun and positive music will have you hooked for good. She began her career in modeling and acting – but now, she’s here to share with you her true passion…. music.

Hi Jessie! How are you?
Hey! I’m fine. Thanks for asking!

How did you get interested in music, and know that you wanted to become a singer?
Music has been my first love for as long as I can remember. However, I knew that I wanted to pursue music professionally when I realized that I have been blessed with a talent and that I should use my talent to touch hearts and have an impact on many lives.

What made you decide to pick up the piano and guitar in addition to your singing?
I feel that piano and guitar are two key instruments that help me to improve as a songwriter.

You’ve mentioned that your album is scheduled to drop around June, so why put out an EP now? Is this maybe a sneak peak to what we can expect to be on your debut?
A date for the album release has been pushed back to later this year. The limited edition EP is currently available on my website www.JessieDaniels.com! The EP consists of the first 6 songs that were written for my project and I think that the songs express the artist that I am becoming each and every day. The EP marks the beginning of my journey as the musical artist I have always envisioned myself being.

How would you describe what the process of recording an album has been like for you? Is it anything how you imagined it to be?
From writing the songs to being in the actual studio I love every bit of the recording process. What also makes the process so much easier is the people I work with. I love working with my producer Sam Mizell, my manager Brian Mayes, and many other talented writers Scott Davis, Jaime Moore, and Greg Hagan. I’m having so much fun!

Which of the songs you have written would you say is most personal to you?
Every single one of my songs means so much to me because they reflect who I am and how I feel. They are all personal. A new song that we wrote recently has a really personal message to it. It’s called “Just As I Am.” I find it to be so awesome that God accepts me for who I am wherever or whenever, for the good times and bad times, for my strengths and my weaknesses. He accepts me and loves me no matter what. That’s such an awesome feeling.

You’ve been on the road and performed with artist like Sheryl Crow and Across the Sky. How do you deal with being away from your friends and family?
I love performing and being on the road but of course I do miss my family and friends. It gets hard sometimes but it helps to know that I have friends and family that support me 100%. Being away just makes me take advantage of the time I do spend with my family and friends at home.

Who would you say are your musical influences?
Artists who have influenced my musical sound include Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne and Evanescence.

You have done both modeling and acting in the past, is that something you would like to continue with or is your main focus music?
For now my main focus is music but as acting and modeling were a big part of my past and I would love for it to also be a part of my future.

I hope to be very successful. I just want to encourage people to be themselves and not to be afraid of what others think. I want everyone to be inspired by a message of faith, hope and love. But most importantly to trust in God above all things!

What are your plans after the release of your debut album? Appearances, tour maybe?
