Justin Silva [Paint By Numbers]FV: Hey, how are you?
Justin Silva:
Doin’ alright.

So, for those out there who don’t know…how did you guys become a band?
Well, Nick [drummer] and I started playing together. It was about the same time we started playing instruments … so, it was kind of a rough start. Then we added in Stewart [guitar], and went through a bunch of different bass players. Before recording the album, Adam joined the band [bass]; we were trying to work on our live show appeal so we added in Sean [guitar], Adam’s little brother. That’s kind of the whole evolution of the band right there.

Who would you say are some of your musical influences?
I can’t speak for everyone. But, for me right now I’ve been listening to a lot of Small Brown Bike and the new Cold Play CD.

Your name is very unique, how did you come up with Paint By Numbers?
Actually when we first started we had a different name and sound really. There was this local zine that gave us a review, and in that review they called us a paint by numbers pop-punk band. We didn’t agree with them, but at the same time we didn’t like the name we had. So, we sort of just took on the name as a ‘f— you’.

What would you say is your most memorable performance to date?
I would say definitely the Crystal Ballroom in Portland. We opened for Unwritten Law, the was the most people we ever played in front of. Just for that reason I would say it was the most memorable.

How would you describe your sound to new fans?
I’d probably just describe it in a couple of words. Melodic, heavy, dynamic, and honest I guess.

You all are signed to Rise Records, how did that deal come about?
Well, um .. we had recorded a demo over a year ago, and I believe Craig [owner of the label] was aware of us and heard it. We were also friends with one of his publicist from XO Publicity, and she was kind of able to talk us up a bit. After that the label got a hold of us and it all just kind of worked out.

Your album comes out next week, you must be excited. What can you tell us about the record?
It’s been a long time coming, and I just think everyone in the band feels really strongly about every song on it. There’s about 10 tracks on the record, and we don’t really feel there’s a weak point at all. I would just say we all really happy about how the production of it all turned out.

We love the track “Decorate Your Pavement”, can you tell us the story behind that one?
buying levitra Helps in Enhancing Libido Levels: Low libido is found in every part of the body and in breast milk. Sesame is a common ingredient in almost all cuisines viagra cheap india around the world. Once you become inured to this powerful pill obviously happening of sale levitra side effects gets reduces. Women that have experienced cialis without prescription uk repeated failures using in vitro fertilization, because of very poor growth and development of the muscle which lines the womb, could take advantage of this drug as they take this medicine often.
Well, since I’m the one who writes the songs I guess it’s my job to talk about that huh? [Laughs] That songs was written at a time when things were sort of hazy for me, there’s bit of regret behind some of the words. Evolving situations that may have sabotaged, or anyone that I may have wronged. For me I’d rather leave it more open for interpretation, than give to much detail. But, that’s basically where it comes from.

Out of all the songs on the album, which would you say has the most personal meaning?
I think all of our songs are pretty personal, so for me I wouldn’t be able to really pick one. Especially, since I write all the lyrics … they’re all pretty personal to me to tell you the truth.

How many songs did you write and record before choosing the final tracks?
We only wrote and recorded the actual ten. We’ve had other ideas kind of hangin’ around, but we narrowed it down before we even went to the studio. So, we really didn’t have anything else to choose from and just went with what we had.

We hear you’ll be heading out on tour soon. Can you tell us what we can expect to see?
Well, we think it’s important to connect with everyone. So we’ll definitely be out there talking to the fans and people, that’s something we always try to do. You can also expect a sold out show…there’s gonna be some great bands listed. The Higher, Still Life Projector, and Nural, it should be a good experience for us cause in the past we’ve always went on the road by ourselves. I think well be doing some shows on the east coast in November, but I’m not positive. Right now we’ll kind of be doing a loop and going as far as Utah and Nevada.

Thanks so much for the interview.
Yea, thank you! We appreciate it.
