What or who would you say pushed you in the direction of music?
A lot of things influenced me to pursue singing…I think it is in my blood, that’s all I was ever interested in when I was little, singing and dancing, watching videos, and concerts on TV.
Everyone trying to start a career in entertainment gets rejected at some time even at a very young age, how did you feel when you got your first rejection?
Learn to deal with it and move on, I realized that not everyone is going to like me, but I can’t let that get me down. I have to allow their criticism to make me a better person.
That’s good at least you didn’t give up. What has been your favorite performance yet?
My favorite performance would have to be the show I did for Make-A-Wish Foundation back in April…it was just an all over great show!! a lot of great fans there!!
How would you describe your music for someone who has never heard it before?
Hmm…I guess most people may classify it as Urban Pop, but I try and mix all different styles of music into my sound…I definitely want my own sound and style and I think with my album that will definitely show through.
A lot of music genres are mixed these days in music. What do you think of everything not being just one type really anymore?
I think that’s good..to be able to cross over and delve into all styles of music I think is apart of artistry…it’s not about being stuck in one style..that’s boring.. it shows diversity as an artist.
Very true. We got a copy of your song “Don’t U Hate It”, and think it’s great…could you tell us a bit about it, and why you chose it as your first song to put out?
It speaks of a girl who is tired of all these games that guys play, saying one thing and meaning another, saying one thing to get something…and us girls hate it, and we’re fed up with it..the guys feed us all this sweet nonsense, and in the end it was all lies…I chose it as my first song because I know a lot of girls can relate to that..I can relate to it ALOT..lol…

Are you excited for the release of your album?
Very excited…it’s gonna be an awesome album, and it touches on a lot of different subjects, and I truly feel there is a song for everyone on the album.
Any idea when we will be able to get it?
It will be finished next month, so it will be out Aug/Sept. we don’t have an exact date just yet.
Well when it comes out I’ll def. have to pick it up.

I haven’t filmed it yet..very soon though, we are still finishing up details on it, so hopefully within the next month.

Probably would be “Can’t Take That Way” by Mariah Carey, that’s a very personal song to me, I have had a lot of people along the way talk trash, put me down etc..so every time I hear that song it touches close to home. One of my songs would be my newest song “Again”..although I wouldn’t say it really describes me..it is a very personal song, it speaks on verbal abuse in a relationship and I have been there and have people close to me that have been through that.

Today there are a lot of young girls looking to performers as role models (i.e.: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera), does that make you feel like you have to set a good example for your fans?
I feel I need to just be me, I don’t want to portray something I am not to please anyone else..and I hope that everyone would respect that. If I happen to be a role model for people, I hope that it is to pursue their dreams and never give up!! I feel like a lot of people think to be a good role model you have to dress and speak a certain way..and that’s not the case, if you can touch one person’s life that’s a good role model!
Where do you hope to go with your music?
I just want to travel the world promoting and performing my music for people to enjoy…that’s all that matters.
Do you have any exciting plans coming up soon?
My album release..and there is a possibility of a tour..but those plans are still in negotiations right now.
You’ll have to come near the Tri-State area so we can catch you live.
